About Us

Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders is a 501(c)(3) Christian organization dedicated to serving the victims of major disasters in the United States. Organized in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we have supported rebuilding in most major hurricane disaster areas since then. We serve uninsured, low-income homeowners using volunteer labor to make our rebuilding effort more affordable. We’re financed from donations and grants.

CURRENT LOCATIONS

Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders is currently operating in eastern North Carolina (Hurricane Florence), Dawson Springs, Kentucky (EF-4 tornado), and western NC (Hurricane Helene).

We’re happy to report that, after completing more than 200 homes in eastern North Carolina, victory is in sight, and we’re no longer seeking volunteers there.

The lingering damage from the EF4 tornado tore across four states the night of Dec. 10, 2021, is still very visible in Dawson Springs and surrounds. Compounding this devastation, the same area was struck again over Memorial Day weekend although the damage was much less. At this point in the recovery, we are focused primarily on new construction. And we still need your help! Please come volunteer.

During the night of September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene made its way to western North Carolina causing loss of life and extensive, catastrophic flooding. FCDR has been on the ground since then and has now transitioned to rebuilding homes. We’re currently operating out of Black Mountain serving the surrounding area including Swannanoa and Asheville. We expect to open a second location in Yancey County (Burnsville) soon. We would love to have your team join us!

We’ll provide the construction leadership, tools and projects — and you provide the energy and passion for serving. If you would like to contact Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders to be part of a project, contact Lyn Wilson.
