Getting close to getting Ms. Gloria moved back into her home in Arapahoe, NC. Thanks to all the volunteer groups this year that have helped. We expect to finish in July and have a home blessing on August 6 (one month before the 3 year anniversary of Hurricane Florence).
Our first group installed a new wheelchair ramp and started reconfiguring her home to be more wheelchair-friendly. We combined 2 bedrooms to give her a suite with a more accessible closet and shower along with widening her doors.
The last two pictures are of her old master bedroom and bath. I still remember asking her how she got to her shower and all she said was ‘it was difficult’. It has 24” doors but her new bathroom has 36” doors and wheelchair accessible tole shower.
