Week 2 at Lake Charles, Louisiana – – Coach Jacobsen brought down 10 football players from my Ala Mater, Morningside University, to join the Hand of Hope Omaha mentors. This is the 3rd time Hand of Hope Omaha has hosted Morningside Football players who gave up their Spring Break to help rebuild homes with us.
Lake Charles had been hit in August and October of 2020 by Hurricanes Laura (Cat 4) and Delta (Cat 2), then a multi-day freeze event (Winter Storm Uri) on 2/13/21 that broke many water lines, and finally a major flood on 5/15/21. Jon Nelson/Hands of Hope Omaha
