Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders (FCDR) has started another house from the ground up. This house in Texas City, Texas was so badly damaged by Hurricane Harvey in 2017 that it was “bulldozed” with an excavator machine. Then the debris was removed and the pad leveled and prepared for a concrete slab.
The following photos show the beginning to March 5th. A group of the Amish Community, from Lanchester, PA, have been on site since March 2nd and have done a remarkable job of framing out the house, roof and beginning the underlayment for siding.
Four young men and four young women came to help, in the words of Jesus “40 And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.’” Matthew 25:40 (NRSV)
The young ladies will return home and two young men will arrive this week to help finish their work. Thanks be to God. Dan Walker Author/Photographer
