Even though COVID 19 has affected so many, our volunteers this past week kept on going. We had to reprioritize work plans for our homes, in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. For our older and immunocompromised homeowners, this meant switching up to working on the exterior of the homes, as opposed to doing interior work.
Dave Johnson’s team from Salem Disaster Response refused to stop working until these homes were at a safe stopping point. Our homeowners are so thankful for the work ethic and dedication that our volunteers have, which allows them to live in a safer environment during these trying times.
We will continue our work in Panama City, while ensuring the safety of all involved. Once it is safe enough for our volunteers to travel, we hope you’ll consider scheduling a trip to the panhandle!
For now, stay safe and practice social distancing!! Toni Karam Ratliff/Family Partner
