So we’ve put the finishing touches on Consuelo’s home in New Bern NC. We started late last year with replacing the damaged metal roof (had a tarp on it) and the home had several collapsed floors. We ended up gutting most of the house and added some nice features for Consuelo and her grandkids. HVAC, insulation in attic and walls, second bathroom, walk-in closet in master, closets in the kids rooms, new windows, new washer/dryer, and a new open kitchen. It was a challenge to get this done during the Coronavirus with a lot of extra hours but we finally made it and we are happy for giving Consuelo and her family a new home. Thanks to SBP, Red Cross and Americorp for helping fund part of this rebuild and to the Baptist’s on Mission for the new HVAC system and for friends of ours (Dan and Jan) for donating a relatively new stove for the kitchen. And thank you so much for the volunteers we had earlier this year that put their heart and soul towards making progress on this home- we can’t wait to get all of you and more back to NC to help this community!
