Wednesday, we celebrated the home blessing for Mr. Lloyd!! Most of the volunteers that volunteered with FCDR in Lake Charles, LA remember this sweet homeowner as the “Cookie Man!”
Mr. Lloyd welcomed the volunteers daily with freshly baked cookies
that were always delicious! Although he was unable to physically work on his home, he wanted to show his appreciation to everyone that walked through the door. He baked almost every single day to thank everyone that came to help. As we entered his home this Wednesday, it was no different. The sweet aroma of his mouth-watering creations filled the air. He had baked THREE different types of cookies for everyone to enjoy!

This home was no exception.
It’s so beautiful to see how God puts the right people together at the right time, in order to accomplish His work. The much-needed repairs made to this home were possible because of so many that came together with one goal…to serve others.
Between the Louisiana United Methodist Conference, ALL of the Amazing Volunteers, our dedicated construction crew, and Petrali Roofing Louisiana, this home is once again a safe place for Mr. Lloyd to enjoy!
