Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders celebrated another dedication of a house destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in La Marque, TX. Some may remember the posts with photos of when the house was demolished, the pile of rubble, the installation of the piers and beams, and the ongoing progress made over the last several months.

Many groups of volunteers were instrumental in helping turn this damaged house into a home again. The first photos taken for FCDR before demolition were in September of 2019. Several different teams of AmeriCorps-NCCC came and were here for several weeks. Some of the other groups, to just name a few, were from Wisconsin, Minnesota, BASIC (Brothers And Sister In Christ) from Niagara University, NY, Massachusetts, two groups from Amish Communities in Lanchester, PA and at the very end to finish up The Congregational Church in S. Glastonbury, Connecticut. Along the way, there several other small groups for a day or two.

AmeriCorps Sun Team 6 finished their tour with FCDR in Texas the day of this dedication. They left Texas for Colorado the next day. Each group is comprised of varied individuals. It is hard to get to know some of them better than others over their six to eight-week tour. They will be missed.

It was quite a village (to borrow a phrase) that put this house and in fact, it takes people from many, many villages to get the houses turned back into homes. May the blessings of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob be with you now and forevermore.

There are also a few photos of the original house, the demolition and the beginning of the work on the house culminating in the photo of the completed home.
